I come to meditation class with Berdhanyas often as I can. Working with her weekly provides me with a great deal of direction (as well as inspiration!) to my ever-deepening process of self-enquiry. It has been an incredible journey, through which she has allowed me to see – week by week – the habits that I have that are not me, so I can move past them into a fuller expression of self. Also, she often speaks to the current pulsation of the Earth, keeping us in alignment with her changes. We are blessed to have this uplifting gathering once a week – it is kind of like spiritual laundry day.

Meditation and Satsangs in Ottawa

Meditation is an extremely popular practice in the world that has been scientifically proven to be a medicine to the body, and mind as well as being beneficial for general well-being. Scientific studies have revealed that with daily meditation, the body’s chemistry changes. In addition, neurological links are activated and regenerated, but mostly we are able to face the abrasive stress of our daily life with a simple and effective technique that promises to mature the human brain. Meditation, however, in our modern era is also very misunderstood and at times poorly taught. Learning correct meditation brings effectiveness in our health, where meditations that are not well-taught or understood can put the mind under great stress. The simpler the technique, the more refinement and guidance is needed.

What is Meditation

Meditation is to repose in one’s’ self with no agenda, expectations or outcomes. It is to put our whole entire self into conscious rest and in that rest, to allow deep regeneration of the cells of the body, of the movements of emotions and the chatting of the mind. Meditation is proven to have countless health benefits and is a powerful tool to know one’s self. Knowing the self through meditation reaffirms one’s power, truth and sense of guidance. Meditations with Berdhanya in Ottawa allow this inner knowing and present a direction of self-learning through specific topics.

What are satsangs?

The word satsang means “association with truth.” This definition encompasses a twofold process: inner satsang and outer satsang. Inner satsang refers to contemplation on the truth and self inquiry. Outer satsang consists of exposition of  sacred teachings and being in the presence of wise men or women. By associating with those who hold similar spiritual values, we reinforce those values and are able to persist on the spiritual path. Satsang, therefore, is a meeting of individuals of similar spiritual intent, goals and practices. In this spirit, satsang is held.

Meditations in Ottawa

Join us every Tuesday 6 at p.m.

Every Tuesday evening, Berdhanya invites all seekers to participate in one hour of meditation in Ottawa. This informal and charming gathering offers both a social and intimate opportunity for self-inquiry, inner balance, relaxation and inner commitment. Each meditation class enriches upon the topic of inner mastery, which is the topic from 2016 to 2019. The simplicity of these meditations have proven to be effective and suitable for all.

Meditations with Berdhanya are divided into three parts: knowledge, meditation and question and answer period.


All meditations classes are recorded. These Audio recordings are available in case you miss a class.

No registration is required – participants sit on the floor (chairs are available if needed.)

An invigorating blend of tea is provided.

Allow at least ten minutes after the session for socializing and discussions.

Parking is available on the street.

Weekly meditation classes with Berdhanya bring me home to myself and unite me with a community of kindred spirits.  When I listen to Berdhanya’s talk on the topic of the week, it awakens my deep inner knowing and the meditation connects me with my vastness, that is beyond the mind and body.  The homework she gives at the end of each class provides an opportunity to look at myself more deeply through out the week, with simplicity, curiosity and kindness.  Thank-you Berdhanya for an hour of simple and profound realization each week.

Your weekly meditation classes fuel my week. I always leave energized, with a new perspective on my self and on the limitations I place on my freedom. I also love to see myself reflected by the others in the room, the realization of no separation and total acceptance.


The weekly meditation classes with Berdhanya refresh my week with kindness, self-acceptance and perspective. I see through my interactions with others there that we are all the same – part of one unit, really – and how we collectively create our world. The more I see of myself – however unattractive, painful or difficult — the more I experience freedom and expansion in my life.
